As you all know, my ankle reconstruction went very well. I saw my doctor on Wednesday and he is very happy with my recovery. So much so that he is allowing me to wear my air boot instead of having a hard cast for the next two weeks! I still am unable to put any weight on it, but that’s where the scooter comes in handy. I was even able to visit Len Fisher in the hospital! After two more weeks, I will continue with the air boot but add some weight bearing and gentle range of motion exercises for 4 weeks. Then, I begin physical therapy. For the next two weeks, I will have office hours on Thursdays from 9:00 – 4:30 pm. Jim will bring me over, transfer my scooter into the building and then come back and pick me up. My car won’t be there, but I will! Once I am putting weight on my ankle, I will be able to drive and will be back to my regular office hours of 9:00 am – 4:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Wendy Rossi and I attended a conference via Zoom this morning on “The Hybrid Church.” Lots of interesting material…so much so, our brains are on overload. We’re going to take some time to digest what we learned and then will be sharing some great ideas. Here’s a hint... instead of getting people in the church, we need to find a way to bring the church to the people. We also need to accept the fact that we will never return to “normal.” Church as we know it will forever be changed… and that’s a good thing! Because of the pandemic, everyone’s lives have been re-prioritized. People who used to come to church on a regular basis, may find that doesn’t work for them any longer. How do we help them remain connected? Lots of good things to think about.

See you Sunday!
