As you know, Jim and I live in Channahon just over the border into Will County. As of midnight tonight, our region will go back to stage 3 mitigation for COVID because the positivity rate has gone over the 8.5 percent mark. Although region 2 which contains Grundy County hasn’t been officially placed back in stage 3, as of 4 days ago the county was at 9.5 percent. This is very disappointing. It makes me frustrated, angry, and sad. And I’m not sleeping very well. I imagine some of you may be feeling the same way.

This morning in our East Conference of Pastor’s meeting we discussed the need for something positive right now. So, someone shared the idea of writing down several things we’re grateful for before going to bed. Hold that thought…

One of my very favorite movies is White Christmas starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, among others. In one scene these two meet in the kitchen of the inn they are staying in the middle of the night because neither of them can sleep. They sing I song that I’d like to share with you:

When I'm worried, and I can't sleep,
I count my blessings instead of sheep,
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings.

When my bankroll, is getting' small,
I think of when I had none at all.
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings.

If you're worried, and you can't sleep,
Just count your blessings instead of sheep,
And you'll fall asleep, counting your blessings.

I’m going to give it a try…who’s with me?!

“See” you Sunday!
