You may remember hearing about a group wanting to use Peace Lutheran to host a PFLAG meeting. PFLAG is an organization that is creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. This is the official notice from the group:

We are an official PFLAG Chapter!!!  After a year of organizing a board, setting up policies and bylaws according to the national PFLAG organization, becoming a non-profit, establishing a bank account, and numerous zoom meetings and emails between us and our national contact, we are official.  Our tentative first open support gathering is June 9th, 4-5:30pm.

Our board consists of the following positions:  President, Michelle Lorenzen; Secretary, Diane Crowe; Treasurer, Linda Jones; Social Media and Communications, Jen Knudson and Sarah Peterson; Education Team, Scott Larson and Judy Stemen; Legal Advisor, Brent Newman; Board members, Galynn Vaksdal, Marilyn Yuhas.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hold the support meetings at Peace LC.  We are now in the PFLAG network of hundreds of chapters and more than 325,000 members and supporters helping create an equitable and inclusive world where every LGBTQ+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered and loved.  We look forward to providing resources, information, education and support to the families and friends in our community.
