We have a few big events coming up here at Peace that we’d like to let you know about. First, is the Advent/Christmas season which begins on December 3rd. In the past we have decorated the church building either the Saturday or Sunday before the first week of Advent. No one has been in charge so to speak it just kind of happens! This year we’d like to be more intentional with the project to make sure it gets done. So, we’d like one or two people to take charge and organize the decorating. We need a date to decorate and a date to de-decorate (by January 7th), a plan for where everything goes, and someone directing volunteers. The PLC events team can take care of the advertising and asking for volunteers. If you are interested in taking the lead on this project, please contact Pastor Lu.
The next big date is December 10th when Peace will celebrate its 50th anniversary! We are planning a special worship service that day and Bishop Stacie will be joining us and preaching. Kelly Van Fleet is organizing a small reception following the service in the gathering area and will be asking for assistance. The church council is already on board to "host" our members and guests that day.
The final date is December 24th. This year Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday so we will be celebrating the fourth Sunday of Advent that morning and the Nativity of our Lord later that day. Traditionally our Christmas Eve service has been at 7:00 pm but because it falls on a weekend, we thought people might prefer a different time. So, yesterday a survey was sent out to ask you what time you might prefer. The choices are 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, or no preference. Over seventy-five people opened the survey but only fourteen completed it. Please help the worship team by completing the survey so we can choose the time that works for most people. It just one click!
Thank you for making these dates even more special by participating!
See you Sunday
