Last Sunday our Worship Task Force met to make some plans that I’d like to share with you. First, we are very excited to be doing the rite of Affirmation of Baptism by our 6 confirmation students! The class with their families and friends will gather outside under the portico at Peace at 10:00 am on Sunday, October 25th. We will record the rite and it will be integrated into the service which premiere’s on November 1st so you all can share in this major milestone in our students lives!
We also reviewed the survey results and are working on plans to offer an in-person worship experience once council votes on when it is safe to do so. There are many things to do and plan so we will be asking for your help. Keep your eyes open for a survey asking you to volunteer to assist with the service. Once we have our volunteers in place and council approves, we can start scheduling these services.
We plan on continuing the online worship as many people outside our congregation as well as those who aren’t ready for in-person worship can participate. There was also discussion on how to integrate something for our children as well.
So, as you can see, there are a lot of exciting things happening at Peace! It might not be exactly back to “normal,” but we’re moving in the right direction. I also want to ask you to remain diligent in your actions during the pandemic. Grundy County is once again nearing the “danger zone” and we must keep our guard up. As always, I am grateful for your encouragement, patience, and prayers for the task force, council, and staff as we continue to navigate these difficult times.
“See” you Sunday!
