As you may or may not know, I will be back to worship in the worship space on Sunday 2-21. I received my second dose of the vaccine on Wednesday and should be ready to go! Thank you for your support and patience as we work through this pandemic together.
A couple things to note going forward. First, I’d like to thank Sharon Harrington who created a new set of paraments for us for Advent and Lent. I purchased a new stole and was so impressed with the fabric; I contacted the seller and they had extra fabric. I sent them a donation and they sent us the fabric! Sharon turned it into a thing of beauty. So, when you come in person or see the video beginning Sunday 2-21, you will see them. Thank you, Sharon!
Next as we transition into me being “in person” some things will be changing with online worship. At first, we will be recording the live service at 9:00 am and post it to Facebook by 11:00 am. We need some lag time because Facebook requires the video to be viewed to make sure there aren’t any copyright issues. So, you will need to wait a couple of hours to see online worship for a few weeks. The video will remain on the page indefinitely. Soon after that we plan on “live streaming” the service so you can see it from home as it’s happening at 9:00 am. This doesn’t happen without a team of talented people, so I’d like to say Thank You to our Worship Task Force and Technical Team: Beth Hobby, Sara Hundley, Gil Jones, Scott Larson , Eric and Sarah Peterson, Nick, Wendy, and Josh Rossi, Judy Stemen, and my hubby Jim Cantrell.
Another transition is that I will be back in the office my regular hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. I work from home on Fridays to write my sermon. I am available on Saturdays and Sunday as well if needed, otherwise I work from home. Monday is my day off. Currently all meetings for church, the synod, PADS board, Morris Area Ministerial Association, and the Channahon Fire Protection District remain online.
Again, I am so grateful for each and everyone of you for doing the right thing by wearing a mask, social distancing, and getting your vaccine when it becomes available. We still have a way to go, but there is a light at the end of the COVID tunnel and it’s getting brighter every day!
“See” you Sunday!
