This group reaches out to those within our congregation who may be unable to come to church by visiting, calling, and bringing Holy Communion. Training is provided.

The Peace Quilters meet every Wednesday in the church basement from 9 AM until 3 PM. We not only make quilts that we distribute to Lutheran Relief and the Illinois Veterans Home, but it is a social gathering for many of us too. Most of the materials we use to make our quilts are scraps of material and bed sheets that are donated to us. Can't sew or feel you don't sew well enough; don't worry we'll teach you and we can also use ladies to knot the finished quilts. Bring a sack lunch and join us!

Every year the members of Peace Lutheran purchase a truck full of food for We Care of Grundy county. When the truck arrives, we unpack and shelve it all to help those in our community who need assistance.

Each Christmas season Peace Lutheran assists the Salvation Army by ringing the bell by the red kettle at Walmart to help those in need, especially during the holidays.

Each Christmas we add a tree to the gathering space to gather donations for a local charity. Each year, the charity changes to meet the needs of our community.

Our men’s group built a Micro Pantry and installed it near the entrance of our parking lot. It says, “Take what you need…leave what you can.” There is a bin in the gathering space for members and friends to bring items to keep the pantry filled to help our neighbors who might be in need. We are always accepting food and monetary donations.

The members and friends of Peace Lutheran have adopted the residents of Saratoga towers! We visit, play games, as well as help them decorate for the seasons.
